Major Issue with Forum Website

Sometime a complete answer to a request for help take more than a couple of sentences. Whoever created this website did a poor job in that I keep getting kicked off due to time. When typing a reply I should not get kicked off; once logged in a user should not be kicked off. This is very annoying and to me means I should just give up attempting to help others when an involved reply takes time to create. FYI: I am a retired college professor that started teaching web design and programming in the 1980's so have some idea as to what is good design and poor design. If the individual who setup this website was in my class they would probably earn a "F". :-ang

Not that I’m aware of, but... to be fair, I’ve been around this site for a few years now. Hard to remember all the changes to my settings I’ve made during that time.

We have had and do have some pretty long winded members here that don't seem to have this problem. They may have written their post on note pad and then loaded after they were finished but in any event they have covered a lot of territory in their posts.

Perhaps it isn't the web site at all but perhaps a problem on your end.

major issue

I am not a professor, nor a college grad but sometimes the simplest things are the hardest for some to grasp. I have had zero problems with this website, it has been very informative, entertaining and it is free. What else could i ask for. I rate this website as an A-plus but what do i know....

Problem with Website Follow UP

The design is OK, it's that I believe once a person is logged in they should be OK. Now, I have posted a longer question with no problems; it's the replies that seem to me to log me off too quickly in my opinion. I have the same issue with my bank that logs me off when I am attempting to balance the checkbook. I have a problem with my streaming service, FUBO.TV, that will not allow me to log on to my account regardless of where I am in my travels; they geofence specific areas and if you go outside the geofenced area they will not allow you on. Just cancelled that service for this very reason. Just subscribed to Sling TV for streaming but in that process it would not accept my email address; only wanted one from one of the super insecure free ones so I setup a gmail account, set up my subscription then blew the gmail account away. Hate spam and hacked email. So, if I have offended anyone by my rant over website design and programming I apologize; It's just that I am very particular about how websites in general work - they should be user oriented and easy to use.

I had the same problem. I was furious. A helpful member told me to select "keep me logged on". I forgot how to do that, but it solved the problem. You can probably find it in "User CP" somewhere.

I had seen the question before, but it was not clear what it meant or what it was intended to do. I suppose it is there for a reason.

I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!

The option to stay logged on or not is there to allow a member to use a public computer and not absently minded walk away and leave the site open for the next user.

It's for the users' protection. It's especially needed in groups full of retired people.
