Introduction

I found this group when searching for reviews on the Kodiak 242RESL. My husband and I are seriously considering purchasing this model and I thought this group would be a good source of info. We currently own a 2000 Springdale 245FB and are looking to upgrade to something newer. I did find some mentions of this model on the forum, but not too many. I'm wondering if anyone out there owns this particular unit and what you think about it so far. Anything you love, hate, would change?

Hello Heather! We bought a 2012 KodiakRLSL in February this year. It is our first TT, so we have "enjoyed" the common first timer experiences! For the most part, it has been good! We love the floor plan. Our issues are quality complaints...leaky faucets, windows are difficult to open, shower floor has a weak unsupported spot just inside the door, woodwork finishing around dinette is sloppy. All fixable but be watchful. My hubby says it hauls great ( I don't drive it.) The most important lesson we learned is to go through a dealer you know and trust. We bought from a dealer at an rv show that we did not know and the after-sale experience. Has. Been worse than bad. All said & done, we probably would buy it again but be aware that the warranty for cosmetic issues is only 90 days.
