Surprise but the “backup camera ready” means they tucked a unconnected coiled up wire under a bracket.
I bought the recommended Furion camera only to find out I had to do a complete install so I could have bought any cheap backup camera on Amazon.
There is a driving light a couple inches away so it was super easy to install a new backup camera but I wish I had known so I didn’t waste time trying to figure out what would be compatible.

No wires in Furrion Housing

I bought a Kodiak Cu 199RK, which also had the Furrion housing but there were no wires coming through from the back wall into the housing. I called the factory and they said it was shipped that way. So I have to remove the Furrion housing to pull the wires through and then reinstall it. I also wonder why they put the Furrion housing there if they don't pull the wires through. It would be so simple and it would really make the install a 15 minute job, like they say it would be on the housing. Very frustating!
