How the furnace should work.
The 8525 does not have a pilot light. It has a spark igniter.
Furnace Cycle
The 8525 requires 12 volts from battery or converter. Check fuses and possible loose connections.
The thermostat is a simple switch. "ON" sends 12 volts to the control board. Check with voltmeter.
Sail switch must be "OFF" before fan will attempt to run.
Fan starts. Sail switch must switch to "ON".
Gas valve opens. You may be able to hear it "click".
At the same time igniter sparks.
Fan and gas continue for a minute.
If heat is not detected, gas shuts off.
Fan continues to run to clear burner chamber.
Gas valve opens again and igniter sparks.
Furnace repeats the cycle three times then fan stops and control board locks out.
To restart the furnace, switch thermostat "OFF" then back "ON".
