2018 aspen 1750rd side a/c…. Question is, what is the black “hood” on the outside over it? Also it appears we have a leak at that same spot. Newbie here so appreciate any help. I have a photo but don’t know how to post it!

The range hood h usually has a flap that operates when the hood is in operation. That “hood” usually has ONE or TWO little latches that keep the vent securely (hah!) closed while not in use or while driving the RV. I hope this is the thing u were talking about.

What sealant can I use at the corner where it appears to be black caulk? It looks like a small crack has happened there.

In the photo, there appears to be black caulk in the corner, and it looks to have a hairline crack, the leak could be coming from that. What is it? What should I use to replace/fix it?

Thank in advance!!

WOW, that's a new one! RV probably didn't come with it. Is that over a window or something? Never use Silicone. You can take the thing off and use Butyl tape under the screws but I would leave some type of hole at the bottom for water drainage.

What's on the inside?
