Hello All.

New guy here. Just want to say hello to everyone.

Just purchased a 2014 Kodiak 331RLSL. It needs a little touch up but we love the fact that the living area slide out on both sides plus a slide out bedroom.

I am thinking about installing solar panels on the roof. Is the roof strong enough to be standing on or supporting the solar panels?

Thanks.

Kin

You should be VERY careful when walking on your roof. Lots of us put down a piece of plywood in order to walk on. When I put solar panels on my roof, i used the flexible ones and used ETERNABOND to fasten them to the roof.

Welcome to the forum and happy travels!

As a general rule if your trailer has a ladder on the side that provides roof access it can probably support your weight but I wouldn't totally rely on that. This might be one of the few areas that your original owner's manual might actually address.

No owner's manual.
It does comes with a roof access ladder attached to the back. I have seen other Kodiaks 331s have the same ladder at the same location. I'll just have to real careful and use a piece of plywood for walking.

Thanks
