Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I recently bought a 2016 Coleman CTS 17BH in July and took it out on it's initial run in October. Went to a military campground at Ft Benning, GA. Hope there are other Coleman owners on here to chat with.

Welcome to the forum. I grew up in Albany and retired in LaGrange. Now retired in South Florida. There are lots of Coleman owners on here and I'm sure some will chime in soon.

Dutchmen owner here. Like Handyman said I'm sure a Coleman owner will pipe in soon enough. In the mean time welcome to the forum, congrats on the new RV. and please as you'll hear lots on this site post pics please, we all love to see new members, their RV's and all mods you do in the future.

Enjoy the forum lots of VERY smart people here. :)

Check out Chehaw State Park in Albany, the COE parks in LaGrange, and Pyne Road Park in LaGrange. All very spacious lots with fabulous views.

Welcome to the forums!

I had a Coleman 16 FBS, traded it on a 30' Class C.

But I can help with a lot of the Coleman stuff. I did a fair number of mods to mine and am familiar with how they are assembled.

Thanks for the welcome

I appreciate the welcome from ya'll. I have found most camping groups to be friendly.
Actually, I have found very few mods to make on this camper, unlike the R Pod I traded. I have made a couple though. I had to make a side rail for the top bunk after my grandson fell out of it, put a TV in it, a vent fan and finally, I just switched out the propane water heater for a DSI Gas/Electric one.
I did have Camping World of Dothan make a few for me before I got it. They put a cable port on the outside so we could hook-in to the cable hook-ups at campgrounds, a vent cover and had front stabilizer jacks put on.
And yes, the campground we tried it out in was Uchee Creek. Beautiful place. Any military (or DOD) types should go there. I think you'd like it.
When I had my new water heater installed by Camping World in Valdosta, they did find some problems with it. All of the plugs had a hot ground on them and the microwave didn't work. They got the wiring part fixed and a new microwave is on order. Good thing they tested it, because I hadn't used the microwave before.

Welcome! I have a smaller Coleman 15BH and we love it. My first mod was flipping the axle to gain another 5"-6" for dry camping. Also installed stabilizers at the front end. Mods in the works are:
1. Dual 12v CPU fan set-up to evact hot air from the outside fridge area, those under-counter style fridges usually need some cooling help,
2. 2nd deep cycle and installing an LCD battery monitor and solar charger,
3. Converted dinette to twin post mounts and reinforced the sagging table;
4. Will be adding an outdoor shower box.
5. Building a fold-up rear cargo carrier w/ two receiver mounts.

Thanks. I have also done a few mods on mine already.
Replaced gas water heater with gas/electric water heater
Added a safety rail to the top bunk
Added a cable plug to the outside of camper
Added front stabilizer jacks
Added electric tongue jack
Added a tv mount and a 19" tv
Just something you may want to do is get you one of those plugs that check whether or not your wiring is right. When I took mine into Camping World for them to install the new water heater, they found out that all of my plugs were wired wrong. They also found that my Microwave had died, so they have a new one on order for me.
