Full Timing in a Rubicon 2100

Thanks Jim, I am not a cabinet maker either just working it out as I go. Slow but steady. I have the end panels built now and attached next is to make the access to the water pump and ems. This make take some time. Hope you enjoy watching my project. Of course I don't show the mistakes I am making along the way just the parts that are working. lol.

Looking good! I was thinking about this on my current new RV this weekend. Eventually I will have to replace cabinets with something nicer. I have a log run of cherry that I bought years ago that would look great in mine. New barn is coming up the first of the year, then I can sit around and contemplate it.

Not much new on the cabinet rebuild. Struggling with a matching stain. It's close but not there yet may have to go with a real thick coating to make it match. Also after many different approaches to the water pump access I just decided to make it a cabinet door to open for now, may try something later for now that is what it will be. I also just install a SeeLevel II tank monitor. I really needed to get some accurate but also reliable readings from the tanks. I know pictures. I will do that real soon. Found out the fresh water tank is not a tank but tanks. Also might be that way with the black tanks I did not remove enough belly pan to really check that out.

I have been going back and forth between SeeLevel and iSeries, right now leaning towards the SeeLevel because it can do multiple reading stations.

I have not see that monitor before. Nice graphic on the meter. I also like the alarm feature. Oh well, I like what I have and it works quite well. I ended up with some higher than normal signal readings so I am pleased. It did take some time to install. the hardest part was to find the correct spot to put the sender onto the tanks. I reused the existing wiring so that was a plus. Good luck on your choice I think any sender that is external to the tanks is better that the OEM.

Hmmm, SeeLevel has a new unit out that will do the full tank alarms too. SeeLevel III 720 system.
SeeLevel has been around quite a while and is a good strong system. Buddy had a bus with it on it, zero problems over the past 10-12 years with the system.

cabinet rebuild project
Well time for an update. Pictures will follow. This turned out to be a much bigger job than I anticipated. First the build of the cabinet was not that bad. Dis-mantling was a bear. The cabinets we put in before the side walls. Screw from the outside wall to the cabinet frame were not anticipated. Had to destroy to old cabinet to get them out. Also the electrical and plumbing were done after the cabinets were put in so i had to do more destruction to get them out. I did finally get them out and found another water leak from the pump. So for me it was worth the work. Now just re-running the wiring and later fixing the short run of the plumbing to the sink, just to make it look better it functions as built. Not sure if I want to keep the old counter top. I would like corian but not sure if I can afford to do that at this time. The original top is just particle board and of course Dutchman split it apart with the wood screws not going in straight and no pilot holes.

Got power back on tonight now just clean up of wires and then get the plumbing and lpg hooked back up and can start cooking again. The hardest part so far to deal with is not being able to cook inside. And of course all the work.

It's been awhile but I am getting close. I had to keep re-hooking-up my micro and water to continue to live in here. I have almost gotten it complete now. This project is not for everyone. I re-arranged the EMS and water pump to make room for a transfer switch. I'm getting tired of using an extension cord. I had originally put in an dedicated o utlet for my inverter. It was easy for the install at the time but turned out to be a pita for full timing. I am installing this ATS to eliminate that problem. The first picture is on the new arrangement of the units. As you can see I left the access via the Microwave removal so I can work on these parts alot easier. More thought on this to come later. For now it is alot easier to work on it this way. Also reduction of the beer intake would have helped during this process. LOL

Got the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) installed. No more extension cords. I just have to watch out what is plugged into the ac outlets now before turning on my inverter. I just have a 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter but it is enouigh for my coffee maker, fridge and TV. Might just use the LPG for the fridge though not sure how much of a draw it will cause yet. Over all I am very happy wish I would have done this along time ago.

Yep it is here and of course with the good weather I have more work to do to fix what broke during the winter. The biggest thing will be a better way to store the stuff I use regularly. Replace my office chair that I use daily and has become very unconforable. Relplace the cheap vinyl coverings on the guest fold down bed that are just sheading for some reason. And third is to make a smaller eating table arrangement. The one that came with this trailer is way too big for just me. I got rid of the rocker chair that came with the trailer as it too started shedding the vinyl and making a mess.:-angOn my last entry I talked about using the fridge with the inverter. Well turns out it draws too much power from my solar setup. I may need another panel or two. I have 400 watts up there now but rarely do they provide more than 200 watts of re-charge power during the day, with the fridge running it is just not quite enough to get a full recharge during the day. dometic extend a room query
Anyone out here had any experience with the Dometic extend a room. I have been pondering on whether or to get one for more space. I have read many reviews and it goes both ways. Mostly folks just don't care for the hassle of putting it up and taking it down. I just want a little more room to move around in. And sit while the trike is in the garage area.

Another freeze
OK I just ordered an UltraHeat pad for my home. I had been without water again this year due to the frozen tank. I sure hope this takes care of it. I ordered the 40 gallon one with dual power. Everything else has been ok this year. I do need to replace the cabinetry around the fridge soon it is starting to look ragged with the sink cabinet was before I rebuilt them.

It has been awhile. I had to pull out my guest bed/dinnete seats because the coverings where just peeling apart. It looks horrible. Since it is just me and my bike in this I have decided to build a ham shack and extend my kitchen counter space. I will try to document the build. My heat pads helped this winter.

My furniture also is flaked and peeling, and the cushions are so compressed as to be useless. Replaced the big chair with an office chair from Staples. Much more comfortable and easy to move around!
Never used the table as it was to big, bulky and heavy for me to maneuver by myself! Use a small folding table from camping world. Very versatile and never in the way.
I need to figure something out for the couches, but need the extra sleeping space (I use an air mattress on top) when I have company, and also need them to fold up so I have room for two bikes. The similar style couch in my '89 Toyota Dolphin was MUCH more comfortable and in better shape, even at 20 years old! (Sometimes I miss my old Dolphin!).
Mostly I've been happy with the Rubicon, but the furniture is JUNK!

Flip Couch Size
I have a line on replacements for the flip couches in my Rubicon 2100, but I am 2000 miles away from my camper for another month! Can someone (OkieJim?) please tell me the actual size of the OEM couches? It won't do me any good if what I get is too big to fit in the space!
