I've had this camper a couple years now, and finally decided it needed a new look. I 'almost' went the hard side conversion route, but in the end decided all it really needed was a facelift.
First thing was to open up the floorplan so I didn't feel so cramped. After playing with a little Crayola CAD I decided on the following: removed the "porta potti storage" cabinet, removed the front bench of the side dinette and spin it around to the rear to make a full width couch; turned the little storage cabinet by the front door 90° so that it's now up against the wall; remove the fridge (didn't work anyhow, and I have a nice 12v cooler) and use that space for more storage; remove the AC that didn't work and replace with a Maxxfan. I love the new layout!! So much more room, and my dog can stretch out on the floor if he wants to now.
I went to Menards today and got some floor tile, wallpaper, and some material to make new countertops and a table. Got the floor and walls done this afternoon. Next will be to paint and reinstall the remaining cabinets, cut and stain the new countertops and table and get them installed, and make some new trim pieces to hide some now exposed wires. I noticed tonight looking at the pics I forgot the door lol. I also need to run some new plumbing for the onboard water tank to the sink.
Going camping with friends the last weekend of this month, so I'm excited to get this all finished up by then.
