First Timer from SK with an issue

Hello All. I am the proud new owner of a 291resl ultralight. I have figured out most things but am not sure on one thing. My panel that has the indicators that show how full black tank 1 and 2 are. Black tank 1 shows 2/3 full, black tank 2 is empty. I can only find one T Release valve for the black tank (presumably 2 because it shows empty), where is the other release valve? Any help would be great and appreciated.

First thing is, those tank lights are rarely reliable. I realize you said you're new, but you can do a search and find numerous posts about that. But, you'll figure that out as you use the rig more often.

Next... if you do have 2 black tanks, many times the handle for the 2nd tank is not located in the wet bay along side the other one. Sometimes, it's located somewhere else under the frame of the rig.. many times near the axles. Look for something like shown in the photos below:

You may be in the same situation as most of us. They use the same control panel for just about all RV's. You may only have ONE black tank if you have only one bathroom. Being 2/3 full, if it's is indeed empty can be one of several things.
1. Substance "stuck" on the sensor.
2. Nothing stuck on the sensor but just another one of those "high quality" sensors they use.

If you have used the tank, wash it out very well. Someone posted a really nifty tank washer on here last week. They put a sprinkler head on a short piece of PVC pipe and stuck it in the toilet. it spun and washed out the tank. You can also use various treatments and stuff to prevent things from sticking.

UltraLite that size only has one toilet. So only one tank. As mentioned they use one panel to suit many models. Our 243 BHSL shows 2 gray and black tanks. We only have one.

Sensor problems

The other point on a new RV, talk to your dealer, it's time that they start to be responsible for what they sell as they make a stupid amount of money on these units.

At any time, new or used you should be able to get all kinds of valuable info for these dealers and if they are uncooperative, contact the manufacturer and make the aware of the problems..
