Today I get my full month's electric bill! A little higher than I expected but then again I was solar for 20 years but now I have to pay the man.

I'm killing the phantom loads such as three TVs that I rarely use. I can't find where the exterior TV is plugged in. I can see it go through the wall but I get the feeling it's plugged in under the oven but thought I'd ask before I go digging too deeply.

Are you sure it will be a significant cost savings to unplug tv's? I understand that post 2010 tv's have to use 1 watt or less when off. 2013 tv's are down to .05 watt

Not sure on the 3800, but my 3950 you removed the drawer below the oven to access the plug for the exterior TV.

It's 20 years of living full solar, a hard mind set to change and the thought of a .5 watt being wasted when it could be used for something important.

It probably would but I'd have to remove the TV from the mount to do so.

The exterior TV lifts off / drops on the mount very easily.
I take mine off almost every trip to plug in a Jawbone Jambox,
you have to be sitting fairly close to the TV to hear the stock speakers.
If I want to hear the game all the way across the parking lot,
I'll plug in my toobin' icebox radio with a 10' sub & 100 watt amp.

I think you should be able to plug / unplug the power cord from the bottom left corner of the TV without having to take it off the mount. That would beat crawling around on your hands & knees in the kitchen?

I resolved the problem by pulling the AC cord out of the bottom of it. If I ever want to use it I'll have to remove it from the mount to reconnect the power cord.

sundancer,

I toyed with the idea of replacing my exterior TV until I realized the only way I could reach the interior plug was to unbolt the couch.
