Hi all,

We just got a new used 2012 289RK and I want to know everything about our newest plaything.
Right now I'd like to know a bit about how the holding tanks are laid out. When I brought it home from the dealer it seemed to sway a bit. I'm thinking the sway was caused by the distribution of weight (the trailer was virtually empty) about the axles. I really hate sway!

If I know where the tanks are located I can manage the weight of the liquids in those tanks to help control potential sway problems.

The good thing about the Denali is the closed belly. The bad thing about the Denali is the closed belly.

Thanks.

I have a 2014 289RK, and I use a Equalizer WD Hitch. I have no sway at all with this hitch.

The only thing I can say about the tank location is obvious and you probably already know, but the kitchen tank is in the rear, and the black and bathroom gray are forward of the axles.

I don't know anything about the blue ox hitch, but I might suggest checking the set up of the sway control and ensure you have the correct weight sway bar rating. (If you previous trailer was lighter, this might be the problem.)

It would sure suck to have to add weight to the front tanks to reduce sway.

BTW, welcome to the forum! My wife and I love our 289RK! its the perfect layout for us.

We were planning on shopping around some more but when we saw this one we decided we didn't need to see any more. This one has it all.
Yes they have a lot of goodies in the denali. we also have the same model and really like it. I have found that the tow vehicle and type of hitch have a lot to do with sway. I have a pretty heavy tow vehicle and a WD hitch with sway bar on one side. I have found that I get very little sway as long as I keep the speed below 60 MPH. Rear kitchen models tend to have more sway unless you have the hitch and load distribution setup correctly. Enjoy your Denali
