Hello. I'm having an issue with my RV Black Water valve stuck in the closed position. It only slides out some but not enough to release. Any hints or tricks are much appreciated. We just got the trailer this weekend and that is the only hiccup. Didn't want to pull to hard and break the rod.

Mine was like that when I bought it. # times dealer said they fixed it. I finally had to drop the underbelly, found where the valve and cable met was not secured well and put a zip tie on it. That fixed the problem.
Mine has always been extremely hard to pull and push back in.

Hi, I have a Voltage 3970 2015. My black tank needed to be drained and the valve would not open. The valve was stuck in the closed position. I had to drill a 1 1/4 " hole on the flat side of the valve where the cable makes connection. I then grabbed the valve pin with a pair of pliers and pulled it open. After I was able to drain the tank I replaced the old valve. What I did was take the blade off of the old valve cleaned up the frame coated the new blade with plumbers grease and installed it. Found some info on YouTube.

I bought a new Coleman (Dutchman) trailer in late 2022. My blackwayer valve opened but was always clogged. I dismantled it and found excess ABS glue strings that hardened. They were acting like a strainer. I contacted Dutchmen and they sent me a new assembly with both black and graywater valves. Easy repair if you have basic plumbing skills. I didn’t want to wait for Camping World(my dealer) to fix it.

Thanks for the replay. I hired Mobil RV specialist and he went and cut the underbelly cover to reach the valve. This as opposed to dropping the entire underbelly cover. Seems like the problem was the cable being too long and tangled. We are researching the valve assembly to replace it but with a shorter cable. I normally take on projects fix things....many things...but being still s full time employee of the government. ...man ...had to pay for this one...ahhhhh

mine was super long also, first use the pumper yanked off the handle from the cable,, got back home and saw the cable was 6 feet going 3 feet,, fixed it by shortening the cable, refrilled handle and recrimped it with hydraulic crimpers i had, all good now,,

My black valve on my 3305 is really hard to open. My rear gray valve doesn't close all the way. I had to get one of those pull valve you attach to your hose connections so I can just close it off there. I am waiting for the black valve to break next. Impossible to lubricate or replace without removing and then replacing the coroplast on the underbelly which I want to avoid. At least the black tank has the hose hookup so I can give it a pretty thorough rinse out whenever I use it and if I have to ever replace the valve. As this trailer is about 8 years old I am not looking to make major investments in it!
