Former tenters, fair weather weekenders that began a search for something off the ground. We were looking at pop-ups, when the idea of a bathroom right there led us down the trailer path.

Five years, and 3 trailers later, and here we are..... gonna try to place a pic..

Our second full season with this Aspen Trail 2870RKS of the 2017 vintage.
Have made some mods..... and will get into those at a later date.
Right now, our first 4 weekends out were a no go due to restrictions. We are hoping for memorial day and the rest of the summer with some nice spots lined up. All in state parks, so we are at their mercy.

But for now, we are parked on our future 'home to grow old in' building site, where I am having fun with my retirement present.... an old backhoe that I use to clear ground, build a road, and make mud! After 2.5 inches of rain yesterday, the pad we are sitting on is solid( future pole barn/RV garage).

Glad to be here..... alive and kicking.... and camping:cool:

Retirement Might be OK

I too am new to posting on this forum, but have been in a pop up for 15 years, and two TTs in nine years since I gave it to my older kids (1996 Coleman Sun Valley.) Now in an Aerolite. Both TTs on the smaller side, but hard to justify a large one if we really don't need the space. I like being able to pull it with my 1/2 ton SUV, even though I like the idea of a 3/4 ton diesel (I have had several pickups as well.) We will see. Both TTs have large outside kitchens, a must for us.

Good luck on your retirement! I retired last month after 42+ years in the electric power business. I like the flex, and am still figuring out my next phase. The virus is not helping gain clarity, but do plan on getting good use out of the Aerolite, especially with my 7 year old son.

Snowman,
Congrats and back @ ya on the retirement.
We tow ours with a 1/2 ton Chevy.... 5.3l,.... I wanted to stay under a dry wt. of 80% rated capacity.... which would be 7200lbs. The dry wt on ours was at 6400... or there abouts.
The hills of Pa can be a challenge..... but we take our time.
My lovely companion of these oh so many years has two more to go and they we will be able to be time flexible. As it is now, we are weekend warriors. She has to bring home the bacon AND cook it!!

Congrats on your retirement..and welcome to the forum. The members of this forum has been a god-send in helping us with the problems we encountered with our TT. Their posts and advice have also helped us avoid costly mistakes..
All the best to your and yours
Safe and Happy travels.
