we purchased our 2013 Komfort Trailblazer 2700rb new in Aug 2013. During our delivery inspection it was noted that all 3 of our skylights were cracked around the screw holes. They did a temp fix to stop any leaking. Of course we went on a trip in September and it rained all week! we had a steady stream of water coming down in the bathroom skylight!!:-ang
Well, it went in this last week for all of the PDI work that needed done (28 line items)!!!!
They had to take down the bathroom ceiling to replace it and found that over 1/2 of the ceiling had black mold on it and was also going down the 2 walls of the shower. some of it was so bad that it has stalactites hanging from it! after taking the 2 other skylights out it was found that basically the entire ceiling in the trailer has been leaking since it left the factory they think and mold is throughout. They took out the other 2 skylights and looked around the ceiling joists and roof decking and all was covered in toxic black mold.

The Dealership contacted Dutchman and they ordered a Mold inspector to come and inspect it. He said it was so bad that they are not licensed to remove walls and ceilings this bad and it was unrepairable. The Dealership is working with Dutchman to get us a total replacement on our trailer.
Talked to a couple other dealerships and sounds like it was a common problem with this particular model.
We should have answers to what trailer we are going to be getting very soon.
Curious if anyone else with the model is having this problem?
Kelly

It will be interesting to see how well Dutchman stands behind their products and if they give you a fair shake.

The result!!

So this is what we found out. our new Trailer we got in August had a leak before it even got to the dealership over 1 1/2 years ago! :-angSOOOOOOO found out it was infested with Black mold and they are having to get us a new one. Cool thing is same trailer, better colors, more features = more bang for our buck! we are getting a power jack, fantastic fan, color interior we wanted originally, ladder on the back, receiver hitch for our bike rack and outdoor stereo controls. also we got the upgraded DVD/ radio combo as well!
I have to commend Bluedog RV with Leslie Mitchell, Jeff Zemp, Robert Miller & Jessie Smedley for going above and beyond with dealing with Dutchman and the the hassle they gave us. Our new one should be delivered in the next 3 weeks, the manufacture is bringing it in to do a MAJOR check on it at their factory in Pendelton OR on the whole thing to make sure NOTHING is wrong and provided all is clear we will get it then.
Then Bluedog will also go over it themselves to confirm all is good!
So barring any problems at the factory we should have our new trailer Mid- January:D

I am so glad to hear that Dutchman does the RIGHT THING sometimes. It's not often that we hear such a GOOD REPORT about Dutchman. :)

it took a lot of pressure for our dealer to make it happen, they wanted us to send it back for repair and then it would have got started in May and finished in AUGUST! they would have encapsulated the mold only. we have a child with breathing issues and it was a no way on our part. Not to mention we have trips booked from Feb- Oct already this year! I would say NEVER give in to them on anything! Make your dealer stand by you!

Our dealer (finally) stood up for us......when we bring it back in the spring, a whole new nose piece and new axles and tires will be going on!

Sounds like Santa was good to Leo and Kathy also. Glad to hear some of your worries are over. All the very best in 2014.

HMMMM! We have a 2013 Kodiak 279RBSL. After sitting all winter I decided to check things out. Water had leaked in from both skylights that were cracked.
Dealer ordered new ones but now I wonder if mold has settled in. Will have the dealer check when the new ones come in. It has been a very rainy spring so could have had a lot of water inside.

This is why we installed Maxx Air Vent Covers. The factory covers are so flimsy and prone to leak. The Maxx Air vent covers go over the factory ones and are made of a heavier Material and you can leave the vents open and not worry about rain or snow getting in.

Just like airborne above, we also have a Kodiak 279RBSL that had a cracked lens over the galley area. I am now seeing condensation between the inner and outer lenses in the head. Look like it will be going back to the dealership for warrantee service and inspection

Might work for vents. Doubt it will work on the 14" x 24" non opening skylights that I was referring to.
Thanks anyway.
