The water heater in my trailer appears not to have an anode rod as the plug is just a plastic one. Would anybody be able to confirm that the 2011 Aerolite 195 QB does not have an anode rod in the water heater?

Hello! Do you know the model number of your heater? If your heater has a plastic coated tub, there won’t be an anode. Mine had a plastic plug which I thought was great until I attempted to clean out the scale. You may want to check your heating element since it’s so old.

My heater now has an anode, it’s attached to the drain plug which I need to change every year or so.

I believe that only Suburban water heaters, (steel tank), require anode rods... If you have the plastic plug, you don't need an anode rod...
