Hi all, my rooftop ac iced up after a few days of operation. I'm told these are not rechargeable.
Being a newbie, that just sounds crazy. On the other hand it's probably the original install. So we're looking for suggestions on where to purchase.

While these ac units don’t have a connection on them to recharge them, you can add one. Not sure if you should add it yourself, there are plenty of kits out there to purchase. If you are unhappy with your AC, this would be a great time to replace it with something much quieter. Dometic has come out with a new AC that was impressive that I saw at the RV show in January and there are a bunch of new ones out there that run quieter and have easy start units built in-which I personally would recommend.

Thanks for the info. Beats stumbling in the dark! RV ownership seems to be an experience in itself.
I'm up for the game though!
Thanks again.

You say it is icing up, there is a frost sensor that may have come dislodged on the coils, take off the outside cover and you will see a small wire with a blunt end that should be inserted into the coils, I had this problem when we first tried to use our center AC

Thanks RDJ

I appreciate the heads-up. I'll check it out next week. Hope it's that simple!

Look and make sure the inside of coils are clean. Low airflow=icing. You have to take off the outside cover and then remove the top of the fan should to get to the inside coils. Mine we clean on the outside, almost totally clogged on the inside

I appreciate your input. It's a bit easier to troubleshoot an issue with more gray matter working in the same direction.
Thanks again, Craig
