Can I hookup to a 220V outlet inside the house? I have a dryer circuit I can access.
Your dryer circuit is probably 220 with ground, you will need a neutral for your rv. Look at your dryer Receptacle it will only have 2 slots and a round hole, that won’t work. You need a neutral. Can I hookup to a 220V outlet inside the house? I have a dryer circuit I can access
N RV uses 2 110 circuits not 1 220 v circuit, be careful. If you check it out and see two separate 110 volt legs, you are good to go. Most dryers use 30 amp for each leg.
If you have a panel you can access, you can grab 220 volts and neutral and ground. I assume you are wanting a 50 amp service? Without proper guidance this could be a very dangerous situation. I have found rv’s that somebody connected the circuits incorrectly and it energized the chassis putting 120 volts to the frame. I’ve been a electrical contractor for over 40 years. Just retired a few years ago. The voltage in your home panel is probably closer to 230 volts. It isn’t hard to do but it is very dangerous and unforgiving. Can I hookup to a 220V outlet inside the house? I have a dryer circuit I can access.
