2017 Voltage 3605

Hi y'all! After a few days going through the countless "Post your mods" thread, I was hooked. We recently purchased a 2017 Voltage 3605 and will be full timing it starting this summer. It should definitely be an adventure as we have 4 kids that will be with us...14, 12, 10, and 2, along with our 11 yr old golden retriever and 9 year old, one eyed pekingnese. We realized we did not want to be bound by having to work to live stationary, we wanted to enjoy everything this great nation has to offer and figure out where we want to live for the rest of our lives. My wife and I are both vets, she did 6 yrs and I did 15. We will be going to Idaho Springs, Colorado first to see if thats where we want to call home, and from there travel to the National Parks across the nation. I'm a Native Texan and proud of it. I look forward to hearing stories, getting advice, and learning much as this is our first RV and we have only advice from others like yourselves to get us started.

Thanks to all. We look foraward to hitting the open road. Interesting how we are selling almost everything in the house, but at the same rate she is buying stuff to put in the RV.

Let's see...four pairs of handcuffs, two out door retractable leashes, one heavy duty and the other not. Two nice dog beds for underneath the trailer. That's a good place to start.

Idaho Springs is very cold country in the Winter. If Colorado is your choice of places to set up "home" during the school year. Then look further South along the front range. Our home is Canon City, we're in the "banana belt". Don't get a lot of snow and night time temps rarely below 20 degrees F.

Salida is 55 miles West and a little higher in the rockies, but decent in the Winter.

Go on over the mountains and Montrose and Delta are nice, small cities. Grand Junction is larger, but also has temperate Winters.

Just a few thoughts.

WOW, you have a full house, Welcome, Yes do see the U.S. with the gang, Pick some of the RV parks that have a lot to do for the kids....you have to get them out as much as you can, Even with our kids, 2 Grandkids, and 2 labs, the Boss gets a little, well you know, and we only go a month or two....

Pirate, thanks for the info. We will definitely look into it. One of our top priorities is a good Middle and High School. I daho Springs seems to have that being in the Evergreen School District. As much as we don't want crazy amounts of snow, we understand it is Colorado and the Rockies are definitely worth weathering out. Preferably moderate winters I suppose, but I'll be looking at those places where you said generally stay above 20 at night.
