new to rv ing --looking for advice on wide range of topics--looks like a good place to start-
my first concern is a reliable tongue lock to safeguard my new baby while it's in outside storage in panama city fl

just saw a utube vid where a guy busted about 5 in a row right off the tongue in about a minute or two--not encouraging--one question is which is more reliable--a wheel clamp or tongue lock?? any help appreciated

Wecome to the forum, Camper.

Keep in mind that locks only keep honest people, honest. You can have the best lock in the world, but if a crook wants your stuff, he'll get it.

As far as hardening up your camper, to make it less attractive to the crooks, I would go with a good tongue lock and a wheel lock. I've always had good service out of Master Lock products.

Welcome to the forum!

My suggestion is... BOTH! The harder you make it for them to steal the more likely they are to move on to easier pickings.

Thievery comes in a grades of sophistry. Retched thing to even have to fight against.

My biggest effort to thwart them is to STAY in it. :D

Not 100% safe, but definitely would require bravado.

Yep, it's the amateurs that get caught. The pros can get through about anything you can put in their path and they are quick doing it.

I have the same trailer as you and love it so far. A wheel lock is more secure than just addressing coupler security. After losing two deep cycle batteries to theft one night I've built a box for both of mine that will slow the thieves down a bit. Our biggest mod has been doing an axle flip and gaining about 5" clearance...that 15BH is really low with only 6.6" at the tank clean outs. We also ditched those funky table legs for a pair of pedestal mounts so we can now actually sit at the dinette without yoga experience.
