Hello. Our hybrid Skamper has leaks where the canvas meets the frame, due to brittle plastic. I’m looking for a solution that doesn’t involve purchasing a new tent.
I have some Eternabond tape that we used on the roof before sealing the roof with rubber. My first thought is to use a strip to connect the bottom of the metal frame to the top of the canvas (modeled in a picture with a small piece of Eternabond).
I’m wide open to other ideas and reality checks.
-There is other water damage to the floor I may ask about later.
-There was water damage around some windows. I removed the windows, dried out the space on either side of the foam insulation and used wood glue with clamps to hold it until dry, then set the windows back in place plus caulk.
The main issue my wife has with the Eternabond tape is that it is stark white compared to the canvas. But we may just have to deal with it.
