Good comments Bill....from .the feedback and what I read was.. some liquid detergents, like you said, are harmful..but Dawn liquid was the recommend choice by far...

EPDM roof inspection

Used Dawn dish detergent and a firm brush to clean the TT roof. Use a low pressure 1200 psi power washer to pre clean and rinse the roof.

TT roof cleaning products.

The manufacturers of tpo and epdm rubber say that using cleaners containing petroleum distillates will damage a roof by ruining the adhesive. Also don`t use products with a citric base.
