Joe, that's what we use our QD for, the grill....

Joe, that's what we use our QD for, the grill. With space to precious we didn't want to add another item (cylinder) to store.

We did something similar, except our BBQ QD is located where our Notcold refer used to be. I converted to a res fridge and used that abandoned gas line for the BBQ. Works awesome!

The only thing I can think of, it's a way of protecting the far bottle gas line as it runs through the length of the front storage compartment.

Our 2013 has the factory Camco dual tank gas regulator installed in the curb side compartment with one propane bottle. The second bottle which is on the drivers side has a separate 30# regulator...
