Yes, there is an aluminum strip behind the belt line trim. It has a lip on the top and the bottom that the trim snaps over. In fact I found it easiest to start the trim and then shove it...

Finally, finally, got the trim I need to replace the beltline trim peeling off my 2014 Voltage Epic III 3800 Toyhauler.
