KayakCrazy, you have to get south of the river somewhere, the Golden Ears bridge is a toll bridge too.

I5 works well. It has good carpool lanes and even during rush hour we've never had huge issues.

Do you use a GPS?

I would take the Sumas crossing, go down Hwy 9 to 542 and take that to I5.
