2 Tubes work great for me. As I mentioned earlier, I now have 8-ft and 6-ft tubes... and they're mounted so that the openings are flush with the bodywork of the rig for easy access.

Like you guys, I found the stock carrier pretty much useless.

I couldn't get my Rhino Extreme hose into it either. The tabs on the end of the Rhino Extreme were too large... so I simply shaved...
