Mine stems are all metal. I replaced my cheap RV tires with Goodyear G614's, which required high-pressure valve stems. And with my dually truck, I have these extensions, which secure to the lug...

Another vote for the TST system. Very user friendly, and no issues at all with the flow-thru screw-on sensors.
