I let it run all night for a total of 14 hours and it used a 1/4 tank, from full to 3/4 tank indicated.

Hey Scott. Grounding the black/red stripe wire to the brown wire worked. I filled the tank up and grounded the wire, gauge shows full now. No blinking anymore! Thanks for all of your help!!!!
