I mounted mine right above hinge and just turned...

I mounted mine right above hinge and just turned the light assembly 180. the light is enough to light it up at night, been like this 4 years now no problem with law.

Just so everyone knows, the floor of the garage in voltages at least are NOT insulated. Don't believe me walk on it in 30F temps bare foot. I was going to get cost of having mine spray foamed.

That is good they are vented as the GPI transfer pump needs 3LB or less vented cap to work correctly! If you installed caps that are not vented then the pump may only work in the cool mornings before...

Your correct but the thought of it tripping when gone for the day is my main concern. they alway say never plug your extra fridge or freezer into the one in your house garage for the same reason.

You don't want fridge on GFCI anyway. the way fridges work they would pop GFCI when you don't expect it and then you would have no fridge.
