What year/model hybrid do you have?
We had a 2005 that would fold up nice and neat with the mattress fastened to the bunk door. Our new 2012 forces us to take one of the mattresses out and store it...

You could also replace the standard side marker light with a 2 bulb version ($5 at walmart or Pepboys), disconnect the wire to the 2nd bulb and wire it to your flasher circuit. 1 bulb would steady...
