New to the forum and frustrated!

Hello, I am new to this particular forum and not to sound to "trumpy" I do have a lot of knowledge and experience to offer. I probably won't stick around long if I have to keep logging on to complete a post! My bank sessions last longer than do these forum sessions. I'm a big believer in security but PLEASE! Give me a break!! Some of the topics on this forum deserve some thought to provide an adequate response!
Please lighten up on the security and lets help each other out. Not to be threatening in the least because I do enjoy sharing knowledge, but. If i have to log on 3 times to share a well thought out response, I'm just not going to continue contributing!
Thanks
Rob

Check your settings in the User Control panel.

I was having the same problem and I think there was something in the user settings that was causing it.

Welcome Rob. Hundreds of posts on my end and never had to log in more than once. Has to be on your end. Good luck.

A couple of things...

Which browser and OS are you using?

When I log in I check the "remember me" box and I stay logged in unless I manually log out.

This is usually a cookie problem.

If you are having problems logging in, staying logged in, getting logged out at page changes or seeing extra ads or content ads (underlined text with ad links) you are getting logged out when you change pages on the site.

Steps to fix this issue (not all may be needed):

Empty your temp internet files (browsing history),
Delete the Dutchmen cookies,
Set your browser’s security to medium-high,
Clear your cache,
Log out.
Log back in and click the “Remember Me” button. Very important!

If you are still having trouble, you may need to specifically enable cookie exchange with the forum in your browser settings or set your system security setting to med-high.

You may need to close your browser or reboot your computer.

Sounds like a Rob problem, I have never had a timeout issue. It's also not usually necessary to rant to get help around here, this is possibly the nicest forum on the internet.

Sorry about "ranting"😔

I guess I was feeling kinda frustrated trying to respond to a couple of articles.
Thanks for all the advice, I totally forgot about the "keep me logged in" checkbox....Duh!
I agree about this being a very nice/curteous forum and I'll be more mindful in the future😜

Wow...16 pound sledge hammer? Hmmm...I've got the 5lb hammer and a 32lb sledge...but I can't swing the sledge with one hand. You must be bigger than I am!!!

But I do like percussive maintenance...gotta remember that one!!!

Dang near used my 5lb hammer on my Windows 10 All-In-One PC. I was unaware that with Edge, you can't attach a Word document to an e-mail if the Word document is open. Fortunately I tried closing the document before resorting to percussive maintenance!!!!

I've had it for forty years or more, don't use it much any more, but I've busted up alot of concrete with it.

I told my IT guy he had better get my laptop upgraded or I was going to resort to percussive maintenance... he had to go look that one up. We laugh a lot about the "chair to keyboard interface issue" and "ID ten T" errors.

I am not an IT guy but I do a lot of follow directions work on our various remote networks.

Aaron,

Hmmm...you mean you read and follow the directions? Never tried that.

I'm a mechanical engineer, I shouldn't have to read the directions! Ummm...and that's part of what the Percussive Maintenance tool is for!! Fortunately I have a wife, er BOSS that has the brains to help me before things get out of hand. So lucky to have found her!!!
