Black tank question

Our first 2 week trip, all's well but I have one black tank but 2 black tank sensor checks on the control panel. I have emptied it, several times, but one lights up full all the time and one seems somewhat accurate. I don't trust the sensors and am hoping the one that always lights up full is because I only have one tank and this one is just wrong. I am learning that the cleaning of these are next to impossible to trust.

Thanks

What trailer? Single bathroom or bath and a half. If it is the latter it is a good possibility that you have two black tanks. Them second valves can be well hidden. You can always open the toilet valve and look into the tank with a flashlight to check the level.

If you have a straight shot through the toilet into the black tank you need to build a Crapinator, it's a Rainbird sprinkler head on some 3/4" PVC with a valve and garden hose fitting. Set it for 360 degree rotation and let it go to town on them turds. The picture is when it was new, it doesn't go near a picnic table anymore. I use to think I was doing a great job keeping the black tank clean until I turned this loose in there.

Thanks for the idea. Looks simple enough to make. I have a Kodiak 261 RSBL. It advertises one black but 2 grey.

I have a Kodiak Cub 176RD. It has two black tank sensor buttons and two gray tank sensor buttons. I assume Dutchmen used the same panel in both TT's.

I put black electrical tape over the two non-functional buttons to solved problem.
I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!

Thanks - I have 2 grey water tanks and they make sense after draining both. The second black tank sensor always says full. I see the 1st black tank sensors drop after dumping the only black tank dump I have. I figured it was a cost thing as is their multiple model owners manual, that sucks.

I have the same issue.....2 black water tank indicators on the panel....1 black water tank on the trailer.....the left indicator always shows 2/3 full which I assume is because there is no tank or sensor. The right indicator works as it should. It is a relatively insignificant detail once you figure out what is going on....but indicative of the lack of level of detail on these campers. When I get time, I will figure out how to make it either not read at all or read empty and when I do I will post how its done. Totally a factory issue.

I always flush my tanks pretty extensively to avoid TP getting stuck in there. This tool definitely makes a difference. It's pretty widely available.

+1 on the suggestion to cover the one that always reads full with black electrical tape. It is pointless so just cover it.

When I've had a couple of questions I called Dutchmen and they were able to help me. It's worth a try. The only other way to know is open up the belly and take a look.

I am not sure why we all obsess over the condition of the black tank. Oh, and toilet paper too. I can say this because I do it as well and will be building a Crapinator in the very near future. That is one of the finest hacks I have ever seen.
