Towing in 4WD All in rain

2012 Ford Expedition 4WD. My question is related in towing in 4WD All setting in inclement weather. Heavy rain and or light snow. I never hit snow where I live however heavy rain often and when not towing I'll switch to 4WD A for added traction. I'll be traveling soon to where I could hit some colder temps. Rain is predicted to be moderate to heavy and then turning cold. Do any of you have experience going into 4WD all setting when towing in these conditions?

Almost all traction (drive and braking) is on the front wheels for normal driving. Adding a lot of weight to the back end of a truck increases the traction available from the rear wheels. So some improvement while towing is to be expected.
On the other hand, I have a traction monitor that tells how much the front and rear axle are pulling. Even in snow there is almost never any pulling using the rear axle. It stays pretty much 100% on the front axle.
I almost never notice any performance difference between two wheel and four wheel drive.

I forgot to add a couple of incidents that may be relevant.
When pulling in 4wd and full throttle and traction is even briefly interrupted, the Pathfinder can move unpredictably. This could be a Pathfinder traction control issue, or it could be a 4wd issue.
In either case, reduced speed and power is definitely recommended in questionable traction conditions.
I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!
