PU Bed Lining

I was always a van guy and not a PU guy. So when I bought the truck, there were things that I didnt even think of that I should have gotten. A bed lining was one of them.
So now that I don't have a bed lining, and want one, what it the recommended way to go? Dealership? Rino Lining? Other?

There may be cheaper, and equally as good alternatives, but the dealer did mine. Looks and does a great job. A must have if have a truck.

Rhino Liner is the way to go. My Chevy dealer sprayed some crap in my truck after the deal for Rhino Liner was made. I guess they thought they could slip it past me but it didn't fly.

The next day the truck was back in the shop where they spent a day sanding the crap out of the bed so they could spray the long lasting Rhino Liner in it.

I returned some 8x8x16 concrete blocks to Lowe's last year. The yard monkey didn't care to pick them off the tailgate where I had placed them for him. He slid them off, about ten of them, and didn't even touch the liner. The plastic tail gate cap took a beating but not the bed or tail gate.

The current truck has the Rino Liner. My older trucks had the plastic snap-in ones. The Rino is by far the best way to go. The plastic ones had stuff sliding all over the place. Things stay put better with the spray in liners. I moved a bunch of materials and equipment for my Son’s machine shop into a new building this past December. It took a huge beating and still looks great, not so much as a scratch.

Rhino Liner or LineX. I have had both in my work trucks and you have to really work to destroy it. My biggest beef with the hard plastic liners is stuff won't stay put. I did use it to my advantage one time to unload some gravel.

I had a Line-X sprayed into my last F250. It was over 14 years old when I got a new truck, held up great, not slippery when wet or loading the motorcycle in the bed. At the time, I looked at both Rhino & Line-X, and liked the texture and hardness of the Line-X better. That was back in 2002.

The current F350 has a Ford factory liner, looks like my old Line-X.

The key is making sure the installer does all the prep work. Scary to watch them sand off the finish on a brand new truck bed! Then they need to know what they are doing in applying the liner properly. They removed the metal tailgate cover, sprayed it, and put it back so it could be removed latter if needed. You may want to have them remove the bed mount bolts, so you can take them out latter if needed. Ford sprayed over them, but I never took them out of the old truck, so probably a better seal. Unlike a drop in liner, you don't get rust underneath, and the texture keeps them from being slippery when wet.

I wonder if there are any issues spraying the new aluminum beds?

Only complaint with the Ford factory job, they use a textured plastic cover on the tailgate. I'd much rather have a sprayed metal one.

Our 2015 f150 has a factory spray in liner, Have not had any prolems with it. I do not haul rocks, bricks, cement blocks etc. Have put in two loads of wood with no problem.
