Thanks for being safety conscious.

We were originally going to buy a 28' RAGEN toy hauler, then we set our minds on a 39' Voltage and assumed the 2500 specs on the RAM website were satisfactory.

Stepping into the 40' toy hauler range is huge leap. If you are serious about it, get ready for a dually, increased costs and supplemental commercial registration as CA GVWR greater than 26k total requires a supplemental. I am going to begin some classes to obtain a non commercial RV license as well. The "old time" RVers in our neighborhood have sworn by this process as the additional training and bigger truck will make the longer trips less stressful along with added confidence and safety. I have heard a couple people talk of Highway Patrol officers taking families on a "field trip" to the CAT scales.

we are really enjoying our Voltage and the whole camping lifestyle so far...
once the hitch is installed in the truck I'll get a photo.

What is the max time you have left your fifth wheel hooked up to your truck? If hooked up do you put the front jacks down? Considering to hook up the night before we leave for convenience since we are planning to leave early in the morning.

I typically get my trailer from storage the day before I leave. I almost always leave it hooked up but lower the landing gear to take the weight of my truck. Probably not necessary but it is easy enough.

I also will raise the curb side leveling jacks to level too so I can run the fridge overnight to cool it down before loading in the morning.

2015 V3200 and 2020 Ford 350 4x4 Platinum SRW/SB

Hello all.
New to the forum. Thanks for the opportunity to pick your brains.
I am 99% sure of buying a 2015 V3200.
just can't seem to find out if I am going to be able to get it all level with my TV being so high. (it's stock truck) I am 39" bed height 58" on side wall and have a B&W slider companion with the factory pucks that goes 16, 17 and 18 inches high. My math tells me that I need a pin box height of ~54 -55 inches. This TH is no where near that when level and I don't want to tow nose high.

I am not sure all TV and TH matches are made in heaven. The TH does have the trialiar tirglide 21K pin box.

Anyone towing with this combo and any advice on if this setup will even work???
Appreciate all responses. Thanks, DMC

You may end up riding a little nose high… but probably not so much as to be an issue.

I too have a 3200, riding on a B&W hitch in the pucks (though not a slider)… and you can see I’m a bit nose high also.

Here is my 2013 Ram 2500 pulling our 2015 V3200.
It will be nose high with out a doubt. I went from the chrome stock 17 inch tires on the truck to factory 20 inch rims and tires. That made it nose high a bit more than the 17’s. To help with that I upgraded to Sailun tire ST235/85/R16 and they were larger than the stock camper tires.

I forgot to mention I’m using a pull rite superglide hitch. It’s a little heavy but performs perfectly.

I had a bear of a time getting my 3305 TH level with my factory set up on my 2027 Ram 4WD 2500 with air suspension.

My understanding is 4WD sits 2 inches or so higher than 2WD. I can’t confirm this but I believe it.

A few things I did:

Selected “alternate trailer height” which lowers the truck about an inch and a half. (Not an option if you don’t have the factory air suspension)

Put the fifth wheel hitch as low as possible in the bed. I know you have a slider so not sure you have this option.

I moved the king pin up as high as possible in the bracket on the trailer to make the trailer sit as low as possible when connected to the truck.

I also replaced the tires with better and slightly taller trailer tires.

Lastly, replaced factory trailer suspension with better leaves that had more arch which in turn raised the trailer.

It is now level but I probably gained over 4 inches by doing all this and I still wish it was even higher as my back end scrapes on many driveways.

Be careful. This is dangerous and can cause the back of your trailer to bend easily where the taillights are mounted.

I really want to find a super heavy duty set of casters to have welded to the frame to try and prevent this.
