Convert-a-Ball or not. That is the question

Looking for some feedback. I'm a newbie to the 5th wheel and recently purchased my first. . I have a 2012 Voltage 3200 toy hauler. Pin weight: 2360. Empty weight 11,636 with a max weight of 16,500. I really would like to use the bed of my truck when not in 5th wheel mode. My problem is that I've had two back surgeries, if I can avoid it I don't want to lift a heavy hitch in and out of the truck.

Has anyone had or heard any feedback with the "convert-a-ball" 5th wheel to gooseneck? On paper it seems to be a good option for me.

Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter - 12" to 16" Tall - 20,000 lbs Convert-A-Ball Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Adapters CAB-C5G

So far my investigation in the forums have not produced a direction.

Thanks
Patrick

ANDERSON ULTIMATE 5th WHEEL CONNECTION... you tube it then buy it.. lol... best for gooseneck ball conversion.. the tubes that attach to king pin for G-neck put 4x's the strain on the necks frame and will void any warranty as it's not designed for the angle or strain.

Patrick, If you don't want to do the convert-a-ball, I use a engine Hoist and it work easy and quick....

Yes. I figured it out. I contacted Dutchman, they advised NOT to use the convert-a-ball due to the stress on the pylon. I decided to use a Reese Goosebox along with a B&W Turnover ball. Though the more expensive route, its been working great the last 10 months.
