Auto Level Up while Hitched

Is there any problem using the auto level while hitched? I have the hydraulic 6 point system.

Depending on the terrain you're on... you may find your hitch in such a bind that it won't release. At least, not easily.

I've never done it, but other than that... I can't really think of anything.

I just want to get level to put the slides out to get a few hours sleep in a parking lot. Really don't want to have to unhitch unless its required.

I think I would use manual mode and lower the jacks that you need. That way you have control of what is going on instead of the auto mode.

I'd use a 2ft level set on the floor or counter top side to side, then use the manual left or right jacks to get that direction level.

Then place the level front to rear and use the manual front or rear to get level.

That will get you plenty level to extend slides and keep doors open inside.

^^^ x2 on manual mode. The first thing the Level Up likes to do when running autolevel is to drop the front of the camper - I can't see that turning out well for the truck or the camper.

Just remember that if the trailer wants to lift the front of the trailer to get level, your truck will be hanging on the fifth wheel, which is a load that is exactly opposite of what it was designed for. I would do that manual mode and just use the jacks to stabilize the trailer, and not worry about getting it perfectly level.

Well, the reason it dips the nose is because there's nothing there to support it. If still hitched, it'll just sit where it's been while towing it until the landing gear extends.

I just use Manual Mode. I have two bubble levels in the compartment for manual leveling. Works great.

Brilliant, I am glad this came up...we are hitting the road next month and will be staying overnight at ruck stops between destinations...our older trailer, I just threw the orange LinksLevelers out and called it good. Was going to do the same here, but I like the idea of just throwing the left or right jacks down and calling it good.

I always make sure i park where the front is high. That way I can stop front jacks just after contact. This will stabilize without trying to lift rear of my truck. Use back jacks to level
