Anderson hitch

So I ordered an Anderson rail mount to replace the heavy demco auto slide, to save weight. The mounting tabs are 3/16th off from fitting in the rails. Highly disappointed. Called the number for Anderson and the voice mailbox was full. Pretty poor customer service. Going to return it. Anyone have experience with pull right 2400?

Guess I’ll answer my own post. Returned the Anderson and received the pull right 2400. Few pounds heavier, but still 200lbs lighter then the demco auto slide. Pull right dropped right into the bed rails. Pin adaptor straight forward. Had to make a bracket to “lock out” the pivot on the rotaflex. Very easy connection, pulls great and plenty of clearance when turning.

That’s interesting since I was considering the Anderson for my titan xd.

First off, I'm glad you found something that works for you, and that you're happy with. That's always good news.

But, unless it's just for of the ease of installing & removing it... I guess I'm just missing something about trying to shave off 200-300 lbs from a rig with a combined gross weight (truck & RV) of around 25,000 - 27,000 lbs. Seems to be like trying to haggle about a measly $200-300 on a vehicle costing $25,000.

Yes easy of removing the hitch was a big part. I know I’m over GVWR, I’m under on axel and tire ratings, however every “100lbs” adds up especially with srw 1ton. If I full timed or towed often I’d buy a dually. We travel 6 times a year and mostly less then 200 miles to the outerbanks and for me that don’t justify a dually. We also drive the truck on the beach and dually’s don’t do so well in the soft sand. Truck and trailer loaded on cat scale was 24,653. I’m not trying to activate the tow police or open the debate of dually vs srw. I was pointing out the lack of quality and lack of customer support I experienced from Anderson. I’m sure thousands of folks have not had any problems. I realize that generally only negative experiences are reported on.

I agree with Snafu on ease of removing the hitch. I have the B&W companion and my wife and I can remove it ourselves. I like to be able to easily reclaim my bed when needed. A heavy slider would not afford the ease of removal.

Well, back to the Anderson... pull right doesn’t seem to have a hitch like that for my Titan!

The pull right and the Anderson that I ordered mounted identically using industry standard rails, only the Anderson was not welded properly and the mounting tabs where off. Both companies have the rail style and also the gooseneck style mounts.

Anderson hitch.

I have used the Anderson lite rail model for several years now without any issues. When I was first installing I had a couple general questions and got right thru to them and they were able to answer on the spot.
Maybe the lack of response is a covid personnel issue.

Could be. Like I said, I wanted to like it. It was few pounds lighter then the pull right.
