96 popup top bracket problems

Just purchased this popup and after a 75 mile trip home I noticed one of the braclets that had previously been repaired with some type of silicone or glue was coming lose. Bottom bracket is fine. it is the small bracket with two phillips screws that the other bracket clamps to and holds top secure while traveling. Anyone else encounter this problem? What id the best solution, please.

If your talking about the four turnbuckles on the corners I would use a pop rivet gun and attach it.

I had a similar problem on an old popup back in the 80s. The latch had been attached with screws going into the top frame rail.

After several failed attempts to secure the latch, I finally decided the only thing that was going to keep it attached was to drill out the holes, attach a metal backing plate on the inside of the top and bolt it in.

This worked so well that I did it with the rest of the laches.
