New member here and potentially a soon to be new Dutchman owner. To add to my newbie status I'm also new to RVing. So with all that said here it goes:
I'm knee deep in research and simply cannot make up my mind. My heart and desires are pushing me towards the 2015 Voltage v3605 but my mind and intuition is nudging me to choose a TT instead. The reason that I cannot decide is because of the truck that I currently own. Its a 2014 F250 with a 6" lift and 37" tires. The 3605 is advertised as 3/4 ton towable which I'm somewhat skeptical about and the lift that is on my truck really has me guessing. Here are the numbers:
My delimma is that I really wont know until I have the 5th wheel hitch installed on my truck and hook up and see for myself but then if it doesnt have bedrail clearence or ride well then im out the cost of a useless hitch. I plan on upgrading my brakes and installing airbags before making the purchase. Lastly, I wouldnt be traveling much over a 100 mile radius from my home with the 5er which is one of the main reasons I think i might be ok with the current set up (I live in central Tx which is very flat country). I know eventually I would purchase a dually TV but would want to haul it for now close to the house with my daily driver which is the f250. Ive spoken with some dealers and have found out that the Voltages already have their axles flipped so that isnt really an option. I know I could lift the trailer if needed which i'm not completely opposed to. I've seen lifted trucks pulling 5th wheel toy haulers plenty but since I'm new to all this I have concerns and dont want to regret my purchase. So here are my questions:
Will I have enough bedrail clearance with my current setup?
Does anyone here pull this or any other toyhauler with a lifted truck and how is it?
Does anyone pull this unit with a 3/4 ton and how is it?
Am I completely ignorant in even thinking that this would work as a temporary setup?
Are there any comparable TT in terms of size and fit/finish as the v3605 that someone would recommend? (Doesnt have to be a toyhauler)
I tow a v3005 with a 3/4 Dodge Ram srw. My truck is stock and currently my 5 th wheel rides about 4.5 inches higher in the front than the rear. I would think with 6 inch lift and 37 inch tires that you might have real problems. I am sure you could take measurements of both truck and fifth wheel hitch on trailer and see if it would work.

I feel your pain, I was in your shoes at one time. I had a F-350 with 8" lift and 37s and was going to haul a 43' Next Level Toyhauler. I started playing with the numbers and it was not adding up. Long story short, I traded it in for a f-450 and am so glad I did. Now we own a newer f-450 with 2.5" of lift and 35's and a Voltage 3905 and I will never tow heavy again without a dually. The difference is incredible. The hitch in the truck is at its lowest setting and the trailer is just a touch out of level when loaded. I still have about a fist and half clearance between my bedrail and bottom of the trailer. Good Luck!
I appreciate all of your responses. I have finally made up my mind to go with the TT for now and upgrade to a 5er and proper TV down the road. So now the roads will be a safer place than they might of been otherwise!!

I drive F350 6" rough country lift, 37" toyo MT also. I recently bought the Voltage 3600 Toy Hauler 40'
I was crazy nervous like you but it all worked out fine in my opinion. I may be a tad nose high but it tows great. My brother drives a dually F450 also 6" lift with 37 " toyo. He pulls 42' V3990.

Amazing my Stock Dodge Ram has my trailer riding nose higher higher than your ford with lift. Mine doesn't squat. Working on leveling truck to fix this problem

Thanks for the info and the pictures are really helpful too. The v3605 that I am looking at has 2 axles. The Voltage rep I initially spoke with said that I would be better off with a triple axle and I was just assuming he was trying to get me into a bigger TH. But after thinking about it does seem that a triple axle would be better especially if I would be unlevel.
