2019 Ram 3500 Limited
Anyone with a new Ram have thoughts/experiences?
I am picking my new tow vehicle up on Friday.
2019 Ram 3500 Limited with the new 400hp/1,000lb-ft Cummins.
This will be my third Ram with the Cummins and the platform is well proven.
No truck wars, please. We all know all the newer HD trucks are amazing machines.

$16k. Expected a bit less due to rust (it was a Wisconsin truck before I got it)

Still pretty good price. While we take a hit when we buy them, they sure hold their value more than any other vehicle I've bought in 45 years. Let's see those photos when you take get the new one home.

Picked up the new TV last night - so far extremely impressed with the fit and finish, features, power and the quiet ride. Pictures will come soon. The B&W hitch gets delivered today.
Knocking out the break-in mileage this week and weekend. Will tow the Voltage next weekend and see how it feels.

The power numbers on these new diesels is staggering. Long ago I worked at a gravel pit in Michigan, delivering rock and moving heavy equipment. I used a Ford tri axle dump truck that pulled an 8 wheeler pup, full loaded it weighed close to 100,000lbs. It had a 350hp Cummims big cam with 1100ft-lbs of torque.
I did have a few more gears to shift through

Don, You will love it. I went from a 12 valve 06 to a fully loaded 2018 and so glad I did. I got the Aisin with the 4.10 rearend. Not the best mileage 17-18 not towing 8-10 towing but hey she don't know the 20k lb triple is even back there. Really love the exhaust brake too. A little over 17 months and about to turn over 29k. Beautiful interior and out. Old and new below. By the way, no breakin on these beast just drive it.

Pretty truck there mister.
I looked at one last month to trade for my Chevy 3500HD but the cost to get it out of the shop wasn't a deciding factor.
Still thinking about a new truck but I have read the reviews and a few complain about lag when taking off from a stop.
Do you notice this or is it someone new to diesel engines?

I've driven diesels for many, many years. There may some perceived lag to a new diesel owner, as the turbo must spin up. I have noticed no lag in mine so far, but again I am used to a diesel. Will see on Thursday when I tow the camper for the first time with it. This is the first diesel I have ever had with an automatic, so a little new to me in that arena, but so far I love the performance and power of this new 400/1,000 Cummins.

Beautiful truck. That was the color I originally wanted, until I saw the granite. I also must add there was a bit of lag from old to new. That was solved quickly with a Stealth Performance Module. https://www.stealthmodules.com/colle...ins-6-7l-13-19.

A little lag isn't bad. I drove fire trucks with 1000 gallons of water on board and a 100 foot platform truck with automatic transmissions and diesels. Not to mention all the crap loaded on them so a little lag might be expected.

Those new front ends are the best looking of the big 3. I just don't have any Dodge luck, it's all with GM

GM is a great, comfortable ride. I personally think they did a terrible job with the 2020 HD grille. I can't get away from the Cummins. Proven platform in almost everything on the planet. Even our military MRAP's run the 6.7 Cummins

I was less than 5 minutes away from getting the half ton Dodge diesel when I got my last truck. I was headed to the sales managers office to sign the paper work when the salesman ran up and said, "I'm really sorry but we can't sell you that truck." They had just put a national stop order on all sales because some of the side curtain air bags were deploying without getting hit. I got my Colorado the next week. Maybe next time...

Here's hoping they solved the rusting issues, major issue up north, see so many rotted out up here. They solved the crash ratings on the 1500, on par with Ford, and the interior is best on the market. I hear the 1500 interior is now in the heavies as well.
