Cool Ice Machine

Hi Guy's, thought you might be interested in this. I have been looking at ice makers online. They range in price from about 160.00 and up. My wife and I were at Sam's the other day when she stopped pointed over at some boxes. There was a large stack of Igloo ice makers for $99.00. I bought one took it home and plugged it in. Works great. It is about the size of a bread maker and makes about 26 lbs a day.

Home Depot carries them on occasion as does Target. I have a couple of them and the Magic Chef has been by far the best to us...

Looks like $149.00 at Walmart. I checked them out after reading this post. Our Teton has a built in ice maker in the frig so it's something we miss with the Voltage.

Was going to go to Sam's & buy the Igloo one after church yesterday. Was in Home Depot & they had a Magic Chief for $98.00. Bought it on the spot took it home and this thing is amazing. It just keeps cranking ice out about every ten minutes.

We took it on our three week vacation to S.D. fit perfect between the frig & stove. Rode there for 4200 miles with no problem. As I said it cranks out ice about every 10 min.

We bought an igloo at sam's about 3 months ago and we have not had to buy ice since. We also use it in the house to back up the icemaker in the main refrigerator because it does work so well.

In garage

We have the washer dryer hookup in the garage. At this time we will not be putting one in. But, thoughts of a water and drain source there had me wondering of a ice machine. Anyone done or have pics like that? Build shelf to put it on? Or does anyone have any "cons" to not do something like this other than space

The ice manchine that l picked up from Sam,s Is an Igloo. It is about the size of a bread machine . You do not run any water lines, you pour water in when it calls for it. I sit mine on the counter next to the sink. Works really well, plenty of ice.

Sounds like a great use of the space to me Scott. Can't think of any reasons not to do it. Just secure it when traveling.

We have had one for over 6 years... never leave home without it as we go through a lot of ice. It's nice to have fresh ice and not having to purchase ice when we are packing up before returning home to store items removed from the fridge. We own the larger one made by Dometic. Never had a problem with it. Love it!

This item is on my short list... power vent, power jack or ice machine... DON'T make me choose!

I keep mine in the basement as we seem to be outside more than inside. I used sharkbite fittings to tee into the shower water line and a valve with a length of flexible tubing for filling it.
