Dutchmen Roller Shade replacement

Hi friends,

We have a 2021 Kodiak 296BHSL. One of the roller shades in the slide out worked exactly 6 times. These blinds are not adjustable or repairable (shocker, I know.) According to my dealer it isn’t covered under my extended warranty.

I don’t want to spend $96 +shipping for a new turd. What have you fine folks done to upgrade the roller shades in your RV?

Sounds like you need to shop around a little. Is it the large shade that needs to be replaced? Can it be repaired? I would think the 96.00 would be worth it in order for your RV not to spend months at the dealership waiting for service!

Hi Frank. Yes, definitely want to shop around. The roller shades are not repairable or adjustable. I may convert them all over to a better built product,.

We replaced all of them with curtains, wife made them. Or rig is smaller, but they work fine.

My 2012 Komfort came with venetian blinds that were pain to open. they were anchored at the bottom and were a pain to clean windows on the inside. Plus, the emergency exits were covered, and you could lose your life trying to undo the blinds. So, I replaced them with pleated blinds that could be opened in a flash.
Works great.
