I had received that info from a news channel and from a friend who sells tires. In fact, he sent all his Goodyear tires back. So I am finished with this topic, I hope..

On the tires, I was told by this same businessman that all trailer tires are made overseas, many from China. He even said Cooper TT tires are from China. I will start checking that out.

I am now more curious what you find for tires and where they are made, how they perform and their load capacity and speed rating.

They manufacture great car tires in Europe like Michelin and Pirelli but I think all the trailer tires are made in China with lacking quality except for the brand mentioned above. Unfortunately the DOT requirements for car and truck tires don’t apply to ST or trailer tires so they are often crap.

Inspect them before each trip, check their COLD pressures before you set out and if you want to be super anal like me you can get tire pressure monitor valve caps that monitor psi and temperature. If a tire begins to get a bubble in the sidewall before it gives way it will likely increase dramatically in temperature as the surface area of the tire will increase and heat up first—before it blows up.

I have used Kenda on my motorcycle with great results. They wore better than the Dunlaps I had. Of course, a lot depends on the type of riding one does so that would only be my observation.

I am going back to my friend and pick his brain a little more on the tires and will post it.

Like was said before, if you have a triple axle trailer truck tires will do fine. At gross weight my tires have 2600 pounds on them - 400 pounds under the tire's max load. For two axle trailers you aren't so lucky. Go with a non-Chinese made trailer tire.
