Lightbulb Simple A/C fix for silly ducting problem.

In our TT, there is an A/C vent within about two to three feet from the thermostat. Our first time out in the spring, we were wondering why the A/C would run for about twenty minutes and only be off for about five before switching back on again. The thermostat even showed the temperature dropping and then climbing. It took a minute to realize that the hockey puck diffuser was blowing on the thermostat, even with it being closed down as far as it would go.

To correct this, we made a deflector out of clear vinyl. The deflector is half-circle shaped and mounted to the diffuser. While the A/C runs a bit longer now, the recycling time is also extended as the TT temperature is actually closer to the indicated temperature on the thermostat.

This is one of those that I look at and think, "What? No one checks the airflow either through CAD or on the first test unit?" We did have skylight leaks that the dealer replaced and Dutchmen paid for. When we went for the pick-up, our technician asked why the plastic was there. When I explained it to him, he asked if I minded him taking a picture or two (I didn't). This model sold pretty well here in South Carolina and I'm thinking that the dealership had already heard some complaints about the A/C's.
