Regulator on propane tanks?

Hello.

Just bought an Aerolite 2017 282dbhs. We have the maiden camping trip planned for next weekend. We have a small gas grill we used with our pop-up that we want to use with the new TT. I am going to connect it to the quick-connect port on the starboard side near the front door. The grill I have doesn't have a regulator and I can't tell if there is one installed already on the TT or if the individual appliances have their own. A little guidance? Thanks

If you don't see a regulator at the tank proper, follow the line going into the RV, there has to be a regulator some where to service the on board appliances.

I wouldn't bet your money on it but I'm sure the exterior connection is regulated. Maybe/probably/SWAG

Welcome to the forum, Jeremy.

One of the propane experts will corect me, but I've got the same SWAG as Sundancer. A regulator on the tank means the whole supply is regulated.

That means you can tap in to the line at any place to supply a new appliance. The only problem you can run into is not having the volume in the line to supply several or every demand for fuel. Could require an adjustment to the regulator.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Pretty sure that they're right...

Looking at most rigs, the propane leaves the cylinder and then goes through the switchover valve and regulator. The switchover valve and regulator are usually mounted to the propane cylinder support (lock down) rod.

I've had 8-9 Rv's in my life time. Never seen one that didn't have a regulator. You will be fine connecting your grill to that connection that's what they are there for.

Connect the grill, open the valve and stand back, if you hear a high pitched whistling sound you are on a unregulated line with no regulator in the grill.

The grill may or may not have a regulator in it. Hook it up and try it, if you can't get a strong enough flame you have some sort of internal regulator and the line on the camper is at regulated pressure. I have seen it done both ways, however it is fairly easy to track LP lines back to where they connect into the system. They should be exposed making them easier to track.

If it is anything like the one that I had with my last trailer, the quick-connect feature is already regulated. I just purchased the same trailer you did and my hose that I had with my grill from the last trailer fits with no problem and the grill works fine.
