Norcold exhaust fan

I came across these in my favourite seller of obscure stuff. They are Made in Germany server fans and it seems there's a hockey sock full of them on various web stores.

283 CFM 12/24 VDC FAN

Nominal voltage is 12-28V 1.1A, at 24V it moves 14480 CFH (410 CU Meters/hour)

Any body seen a 12-24 volt stepup transformer lately?

Step up transformers are old school, it's solid state these days. I have a few voltage boosters/increasers that will go from three volts to 24 at 1 amp plus with a heat sink.

Sundancer,

These fans running at 12V will still move at lot of air, but I would be nice to be able to increase it if the need arose.

Have you got a brand name for the boosters you have?

Something like this Jim 150W DC DC Boost Converter 10 32V to 12 35V 6A Step Up Voltage Charger Power | eBay

Adjustable in case the full speed of the fan is noisy, lots of them on Ebay where I usually get them.

At work I use vicor DC-to-DC converters on a regular basis. That link is for a circuit board mount but they make lots of other packages for mounting. I think the one I selected above is rated at 5 amps constant output.

Thanks guys,

I know what I'll be looking for now, if I want to play.

The Vicor looks nice, but a little pricey for a science project.
