2015 3990 Living Room A/C

Anyone out there with a 2015 3990 with three A/C's? I'm thinking that they didn't finish venting my living room A/C. I only have the puck vents in the living room as well as two larger house type metal vents in the ceiling. No actual unit suspended from the ceiling like in the garage or bedroom. I want to change the filters but can't find them. Is yours similar? Thanks.

The metal vents are the return air vents. The foam filters are in there. The A/C proper is on the roof and is ducted to the four discharge openings.


You will want to search A/C problems to learn how to remove the A/C on the roof and properly seal the duct work up there to maximize cold air flow. You will be amazed what you find there.

In my 3905 I have nine discharge openings. Four in living room, two in garage, two in bedroom, and one in bathroom.

I also find that my garage A/C is ducted forward into the same system though the flow doesn't get must past the two garage ceiling ducts.

In my 3905 I have nine discharge openings. Four in living room, two in garage, two in bedroom, and one in bathroom.

Yep, I have nine discharge vents also but my comment regarding four vents were in direct response to the OP's question containing the words 'living room'.

Only the garage unit is tied into the duct system. The bedroom in not. The plenum in the bedroom has vents that blow fore and aft. The garage unit plenum kind of sucks. It blows out the bottom but only seems to move air toward the driver side of the trailer and into the ceiling ducts. The movement to the duct system is slight, but it is there.

If your is like mine. Turn on ONLY the garage A/C and see if you feel air movement at the two ceiling ducts in the garage. I can also feel a slight amount or air movement at the two rear ceiling ducts in the living room but that's about as far as it can be felt.

Yep, two ducted pucks in the bed room and two in the garage.

The bed room has its own A/C that has a modified down discharge vent. However, a small movement of cold air from the living room A/C comes out of the down discharge vent.
I can't figure out where it is getting the air since I have pretty much taped closed the two ducts in there.

Interesting...my garage is stand alone, while my bedroom is tied in, which I find to be better maybe?!?!

I keep the rear pucks closed and only let the rear AC do the garage. I leave the bedroom plenum closed, and let the bedroom cool via the two pucks...when the front is running, the main is invariably running, I get more air through the ducts to help with the living area.

I have had the puck lights down before near my loft, there is a lot of air that escapes through there when the AC is running, obviously something was left unsealed. I think the only way to fix that would be to tackle it if/when a new roof gets put on. The ceiling lights could be a source of air into your garage??

I'm glad this discussion came up. I would love to be able to put my garage air-conditioner in my bedroom and vice versa. I guess I will have to take a look at that when it cools off out here in a couple months.

No kidding, completely boggles my mind. They could be so much more efficient and quality of work may accidentally increase if they were to do things the same from trailer to trailer.....

I may actually look into finding a diffuser for the bedroom AC like the garage has - I finally climbed up there last night in my troubleshooting my LMS shedding issue and I like it - however I did find a loose piece of foam rubber in there sitting over the intake grille - it is supposed to be in there somewhere as it is nicely cut and has a label indicating which side is to face the front of the AC unit - anyone have any ideas? For now, I just pushed it out of the way and viola - plenty of airflow.

I don't think the plenum in the garage (for the 3950) will work in the bedroom. I think they are specific for vented and non vented applications....however, my next project is to come up with a way to use a regular home filter and have a close able vent, much like a home ceiling register installed in that spot.
