What the hex is pex

Not having any plumbing issues. Just thinking about the fact that I have all the tools, parts, and lots of experience sweat soldering copper plumbing but of course my RV has PEX which I have NEVER seen before.

I found this video :

Just wondering what other campers have found in their dutchmen RV and what Pex plumbing tools you keep on hand for emergencies...

I keep the cinch tool in the rig. Also a bag of cinch rings of 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 inch. A few brass 90 degree couplings and a few straight ones. Then there are the pieces of PEX tubing, just in case.
I sat in a trailer over night that had a leak in a cinch ring so the water had to be turned off for the night. The first tool I bought was the cinch tool, even before I bought the hauler because I knew that was what was being used these days.
I've been remodeling an old house and all the above floor plumbing has been replaced with PEX.

I have done a whole lot of copper over the years. Now I am doing PEX... My current houses both have PBT (polybutylene) that is slowly being replaced with PEX as it fails.

My trailer only has one size of piping. For quick repairs the best bet is to carry some SharkBite fittings in the right sizes. Then do the crimp rings when you get home.

amen to sharkbite, saved me more than one time, and not really that bad in price when you consider how fast you can fix a leak.
