Toilet won't stop running

I have a Thetford aqua magic style ii toilet and since we moved our camper to a new location and turned water on the toilet won't stop running. I have changed the vacuum breaker on the back of the toilet and still same issue. I looked at changing the water valve but the only part that looks like it could fail would be an o-ring. But it looks to me the only purpose of the o-ring is to prevent water from leaking out of the valve and onto the floor. Anyone else have this issue?

Yeah I watched that video but it only shows how to remove and replace the foot petal. Which I understand how to replace the parts, I'm just not understanding why it's free flowing water. I'm going to go ahead and replace the water valve today and see what that does.

What I was trying to get at was perhaps the pedal slipped out of the spot that is supposed to control the water.

Unfortunately that isn't the cause of the issue either. I tried operating the valve by hand while the pedal was off but it was still free flowing.

Probably trash in the valve keeping it from closing and big enough that water is not pushing it out.

I have had leaks in my kitchen sink and upon taking apart, found little pieces of Pex tuning in it,, probably from the rocket scientist that put the trailer together,, you will probably find something like that in your valve if you can get at it all... good luck.
